Project Overview

The goal of our project is to create a website for the Griffith Buck Roses at Reiman Gardens. The website should contain a page for each of Griffith Buck's ~120 roses with photos, technical descriptions, parentage, progeny, and date of release. In the future, it may also contain a link to our Plant Explorer (still in Alpha). This website must be editable by RG staff, who have little to no programing background, so they can add photos and information. This will include having a password-protected login.

The website will be used by the general public and must be easy to browse, searchable by color and size, and be sortable alphabetically and by release date. Both mobile and web versions will be necessary. Additionally, one part of the homepage should include a chart or timeline that utilizes historical weather and Degree Day information to predict when rose pests will emerge and when roses will bloom at Reiman Gardens. Additional web pages would include a biography of Dr. Buck, a page for Buck Roses that are missing from cultivation, and a list of nurseries that offer Buck Roses. All of these things need to be editable.
